Inspired by the promise of spring time where British bluebell wild flowers carpet the forest floor with beautiful colours of cobalt blue and lilac. The words ‘Bluebells are the lullaby of spring’ have been hand-stamped onto the copper sheet. The metal has been lightly hammered, scuffed and distressed to give texture and depth to this woodland piece.
Variation: Each piece is hand-crafted individually and will vary slightly in appearance. When ordering you will receive a replica of the original design using the same colour palette. Slight differences in the design and beading will occur due to the hand-made nature of copper metalwork. The photographs in the gallery show a number of versions of the design on multiple backgrounds to give the most true to life image.
Hand-Stamping: I use the traditional method of hand-stamping onto copper sheet. Each letter is hand-stamped with a wonky rustic appearance, to be imperfect and whimsical. There will be differences in each creation with the text alignment, spacing and position. It is also important to note that hand stamping onto copper sheet causes the rear side to buckle slightly from the metal being ‘chased’ on the front side. The indentation on the front is darkened to ‘pop’ the lettering and numbers.
Beads: Blue agate semi-precious gem stone.
Metal: Solid copper with a patina finish polished to reveal the warm coppery tones beneath. The copper has been sealed with a gloss varnish.
Length: 13cm / 5.1 inches.
