The Making of a Copper Wire Heart

Some work in progress photographs for you today, sharing my little twining vine copper wire work love heart. It has a five part process as follows;

- Base love heart frame with twirly ends that have been flattened into paddle shape

- Decorative twine placed on the top to add interest

- A dark patina finish using liver of sulphur solution to prematurely age the piece

- Polish the design to reveal coppery highlights

- Varnish to seal the patina effect
